Chosen to release debut album in June 2025
Chosen Wilkins's debut album, 'BLACKGAYAMERICAN,' will drop in June 2025, just in time for Pride month. This will be volume one of a four-part music masterpiece. A provocative journey of dance, pop, soft-rock & soul. A celebration of the artist that he is destined to be with some unexpected collaborations. Pre-orders will be available on April 2nd.
Chosen to revive the role previously played by comedian Chris Rock.
Chosen Wilkins will play the role of his great-uncle & former Chief Executive of the NAACP, Roy Wilkins, in a biopic of the civil rights leader's life. Actor and comedian Chris Rock portrayed Roy Wilkins in the 2023 Netflix feature film Rustin.
Chosen Drops Target as Sponsors
Chosen drops Target as a sponsor for his upcoming promotional tour. The Spotlight singer slammed Target for scaling back on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) initiatives and ending its programs to boost Black employee representation and promote Black-owned businesses. Though this is the first major sponsor for Wilkins and would have significantly funded his 21 city tour, Wilkins feels that it would have "made me a supporter of their actions against his race and himself...it's bigger than receiving money to pay for a tour." Chosen was set to appear in ads and commercials online and on social media. The singer hopes to find another major sponsor for the tour before summer. Wilkins supports the Target boycott led by PastorJamal Bryant.
